Travel Consulting Hub is all about giving you high-value information and turning your dream trips into a reality. You know that the French Riviera isn’t cheap and any French Riviera tour package will cost you a lot. However, there are some things you can do for making it possible and within your budget. If you want to visit this micro-state, but don’t want to spend a fortune, you came to the right place.
Getting to Monaco
Almost all low-cost airlines fly to Nice, the nearest airport from Monaco. From there you can take the 110 bus or a 25-minute train trip (after a 15-minute walk from the airport terminal). Both options are convenient and inexpensive. On the other hand, if you want to really pamper yourself while touring the city you can take a helicopter transfer. It will cost you around $150, but you’ll save a lot of walk and start your vacation in style!
Where to Stay
There’s no such thing as a budget hotel in Monaco. If you don’t mind staying just a little outside the city, Hotel Normandy is a great option. It’s run by a family of artists and it’s conveniently located near a bus stop.
If you want to stay in the closer to the action, you can often get some good rates at Novotel Monte Carlo. You can click here to check all hotels and prices in the city.
What to Do and Where to Eat
If you want to enjoy Monte Carlo without spending a fortune, start visiting the Exotic Garden. This cliffside garden will blow your mind with all its beauty and it also has great views of the principality. Then, head to Monaco’s historic quarter called “Le Rocher”. It’s a feast for your eyes! Just let yourself go with all it has to offer and keep looking for all the photo opportunities it has to offer. At night – during June to September – you can go to the movies at the open-air cinema here in Le Rocher! Also, if you don’t mind the crowds, check out the white stone Cathedral with its Romanesque-Byzantine style as well. But if you just want to chill out and enjoy the Mediterranean waters, go to Esplanade Stefano Casiraghi (a concrete solarium near the cinema) or Larvotto Beach. Both are free!
Once you’re hungry, head to Old Town and try all the market stalls. Do we need to say anything else about French bread, wine and cheese?!...
If you don’t mind eating burgers, pizza and pasta, check out Tip Top and Flashman. Both places can well suit your budget while making sure you get a nice meal.
Your Monaco trip won’t be complete until you check the changing of the guard at the palace, of course. Now, it’s time to pack your bags and head back home, but at least you could enjoy all delights Monaco has to offer within your budget. But why not making another stop at Nice or St. Tropez before going back home? If you want to tour the French Riviera on a budget, you can get a fully custom made plan. Take advantage of the current rates! You still get the Mediterranean sun without the extra cost!
